Jayden Arevalo is a fourth-year Biology major from Stockton, California who joined the Mack Lab in September of 2023. Upon graduating, he aspires to attend medical school with the intention of becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon. He joined the Mack Lab to learning how blood flow affects vascular response via endothelial mechanotransduction, specifically how Ca2+ signals may vary in different segments of the cardiovascular system. In his free time, he volunteers as an elementary school fitness & nutrition educator, volunteers as a BLS/CPR instructor, cooks, and watches movies. Fun fact: He saved his dog's life when she was choking on a piece of chicken using CPR/BLS!
